In some interesting news, Paul McCartney has joined the cast of the next Pirates of the Caribbean entry, Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Deadline has word that Macca has been brought in as part of some additional shooting for the movie, with the exact specifics over the 73-year-old’s role being kept schtum at this stage. Obviously this isn’t the first member of rock royalty to make an appearance in the franchise, with The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards famously playing the father of Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow.

To be directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which will feature Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Brenton Thwaites and Javier Bardem, is currently set for a July 7th, 2017 release.
