After much speculation, James Wan’s Aquaman has now found its villain.

Deadline is reporting that Patrick Wilson will be playing Orm, aka Ocean Master, in the Jason Momoa-starrer. As well as appearing in genre efforts such as The Conjuring, Insidious, Prometheus, The A-Team and the Fargo TV series, Wilson is no stranger to comic book affairs, having playing Nite Owl in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen.

In the comic book realm, Orm is the half-brother of Aquaman, and his main character trait is that he’s jealous of the Marine Marvel’s grip on the throne of Atlantis. As such, he employs tactics laced in terrorism and piracy, not to mention his magical trident, to try and overthrow his half-brother as the King of Atlantis.

Wilson joins an Aquaman cast that includes Jason Momoa as the titular hero, Amber Heard as Mera, the Queen of Atlantis, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko, an Atlantean advisor.

To be directed by James Wan, Aquaman is set for an October 5th, 2018 release. Before that, Momoa’s King of Atlantis will be next seen when Zack Snyder’s Justice League hits cinemas next November.
