Given that the film was originally booked in for a June release, it doesn’t come as much surprise to hear that the World War Z sequel is having some issues, but now the film has been completely pulled from Paramount’s release schedule.

Considering that the film hasn’t even got a director by this point, it’s impossible to meet that planned release date, although it was expected that the release would’ve just been pushed back to a new date. But no, Paramount has completely pulled World War Z 2 from its release plans.

Previously, J.A. Bayona was on board to direct the sequel to the 2013 Brad Pitt-starrer. He left the project early last year to focus on the Jurassic World sequel, and the latest speculation claimed that Pitt wanted David Fincher to helm the World War Z follow-up.

At present, it appears that Paramount is looking at a 2019, possibly 2018, release for World War Z 2, but obviously that film needs to get things moving forward over the next few months if it’s to meet those plans.
