Since the team behind the fabulous BLOODY CUTS shorts announced they were no longer making films under the banner, the anticipation for the previously announced THE OUTER DARKNESS has been intense.

The premise behind what will be an ongoing series is:

“THE OUTER DARKNESS is a new horror series in the same vein as classic anthology shows such as “THE TWILIGHT ZONE”, and “TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE”. Each episode of the series will feature an individual story from a disparate group of victims and witnesses of the supernatural – all of course with an unexpected twist in the tale.”

The first episode went live over the weekend, and you can see it below:

On Friday evenings in Lynnsmouth Community Centre, meets a group led by Father Jonathan Crowe. Together they share their stories – tales of strange occurrences, horrific events and bizarre encounters that have scarred their lives. Tonight, a young tormented woman called Jenny will share a story of her experience with a game of chance that sealed the fate of her family…”

Part one is produced and directed by Ben Franklin and Anthony Melton, and written by Joel Morgan, with Jonny Franklin taking the director of photography role, all of whom have made a massive contribution to previous BLOODY CUTS productions.

With the standard of previous shorts from the team, the rest of the series is certainly worth keeping an eye open for!
