Jim Cameron’s four Avatar sequels have moved to bring in a new addition in the shape of Oona Chaplin.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, with Chaplin likely best known to genre fans for playing Talisa Maegyr – Robb Stark’s doomed wife – in Game of Thrones. In Cameron’s Avatar sequels, the actress will be playing Varang, a character described as “a strong and vibrant central character who spans the entire saga of the sequel.”

Chaplin, who has also appeared in Black Mirror and Sherlock, joins a cast that includes the returning Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Joel David Moore, and fellow new addition Cliff Curtis.

At present, the Avatar sequels are booked in for December 2020, December 2021, December 2024, and December 2025.
