Early this year came word that Damien Thorn of THE OMEN fame was the latest horror name to be getting his own TV show, simply titled DAMIEN. Now comes confirmation that Lifetime has ordered a full season of the show.

In a shorter season run than other small screen horror tales like BATES MOTEL and HANNIBAL, DAMIEN’s first season will only consist of six episodes. The current plan is for the show to debut early next, following a young adult Damien described as “seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny – that he is the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages.” It’s been said that the show will use the original OMEN as its jumping off point, possibly incorporating elements of DAMIEN: OMEN II and OMEN III: THE FINAL CONFLICT.

For the more worried of you out there, THE WALKING DEAD’s Glen Mazzara will be acting as the series’ showrunner, which may alleviate some concerns. On that point, Lifetime EVP Rob Sharenow said, “Glen Mazzara has re-imagined Damien as a dark, romantic, anti-hero and this fresh take blends complex characters with premium storytelling to make something truly original.” Dark, romantic, anti-hero? Okay, maybe some of those concerns may have just come back…
