With Season 4 of Arrow to debut later this year, it’s been revealed that Oliver Queen is getting a costume upgrade when the Master Bowman makes his return.

Since Arrow first debuted, the titular hero has seen his costume tweaked a little over the show’s three-year run but this new outfit is the most drastic change to date. Of course, how and why the outfit gets changed remains to be seen, although when we last saw Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen he was driving off into the sunset and embracing what seemed to be far too happy an ending for the character.

The official word on Season 4 of the show reads:

After defeating his most formidable foe to date and riding off into the sunset with longtime flame Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Arrow) left Starling City with the hopes of beginning a new life. But will Oliver ever truly be able to leave behind his past as the Arrow, and, if so, what becomes of the team he has worked so hard to assemble? Will Diggle, Thea, and Laurel be left to continue Oliver’s crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra’s al Ghul, is anyone really safe?

Yesterday brought word that Neal McDonough has landed the ‘big bad’ gig for Arrow Season 4, with him playing Damien Darhk, and to get you up to speed The CW has also launched this Season 3 recap video:

Arrow makes its US return on October 7th, with a UK return set to follow shortly after.
