The super-being behind what has become known as THE VENGEANCE TRILOGY, Park Chan-wook, is developing a new project currently named YOUNG LADY. Adapted from the novel FINGERSMITH, which was released twelve years ago (and written by Sarah Waters), this narrative contains a female thief who succumbs to lesbian urges during her latest con.

Although the Korean director’s debut English-language feature (STOKER) received a generally underwhelming reaction, Waters’ material allows for exploration of taboo themes, which naturally resonates with the OLDBOY-helmer’s fascinations. For the people who clearly experienced STOKER properly, then this FINGERSMITH adaptation is a piece of juicy news that will surely trickle down your throat with ease.

With production hopefully going ahead early 2015 and casting taking place right now, the YOUNG LADY should arrive in the next two years. Just for kicks we hope that Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska feature in this in some sort of eerie capacity.
