This October on NYX UK promises to be extra horrific with 12 channel premieres, a celebration of Bela Lugosi in honour of his birthday, and a fitting screening of a John Carpenter classic.

Amongst the premieres are Alejandro Jodorowsky’s superb Santa Sangre (1989), Stewart Sparke’s indie goryfest Book of Monsters (2018), Hank Braxton’s zom-com Glowzies (2023), Michael Pereira’s debut Beyond the Chamber of Terror (2021), Edward Sánchez’s Lovely Molly (2011), Israel’s first horror movie Rabies (2010), and the 2020 remake of Castle Freak. Other premieres include Roxanne Benjamin’s Body at Brighton Rock (2019), Stephen Cognetti’s Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, the superb mockumentary Antrum: The Deadliest Film Ever Made (2018), Danny Draven’s Restitution (2024), and William Peter Blatty’s The Ninth Configuration (1980).

To commemorate the birthday of horror legend Bela Lugosi on October 20th, there are screenings of two of his best, White Zombie (1932) and Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932).

On Halloween night itself, what other film is more fitting than John Carpenter’s seminal 1978 Halloween?

NYX UK can be found on Freeview 271, Channelbox App, TCL TVs, and Distro TV
