To many, it seemed logical for Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw would be returning for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant. Whilst the initial cast list and various reports seemed to indicate Rapace wouldn’t be back for the follow-up, it’s now being reported that she will indeed be returning.

Deadline has word that Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw will definitely be back, although it’s not sure just how big her role will be in Alien: Covenant. The talented actress is currently in Australia on set shooting a week’s worth of scenes.

Already on board for the film are Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Billy Crudup, Callie Hernandez, and the returning Michael Fassbender as David.

The synopsis for Alien: Covenant reads:

Set as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus, Alien: Covenant connects directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world – whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant is currently set for an August 4th, 2017 release.
