Above all others, the Batman: Arkham series has been the benchmark for superhero games. Even counting the buggy Arkham Origins and mechanically troubled mess of Arkham Knight, the series nevertheless left a mark upon the gaming world. While fans have speculated about its return more than once, unfortunately, it looks as if Knight will be the end to this saga.

Speaking at Nashville’s Wizard Comic Con, the long-standing actor behind the Dark Knight, Kevin Conroy claimed that there were no plans for sequels. While speaking with fans, he claimed the following:

You know, I can’t believe that they’re not gonna do another one, but they’re not. Isn’t that amazing? They made literally billions of dollars on those games, but uh no, there’s no plan to do another one. Sorry.”

While Warner Bros had not commented on this subject, it confirmed the long-standing claim by Rocksteady Studios that Knight would be their final Batman title. While Warner Bros will almost certainly not let such a financially lucrative icon be forgotten, whatever we see next will likely have nothing to do with the prior quadrilogy.
