Already setting up their next collaboration after the incredible box office success of M3GAN, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse have announced that Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon are to star in Night Swim, a supernatural horror from writer-director Bryce McGuire.
Details of the plot are being kept quiet, but Night Swim is being described as a supernatural thriller built around the hidden source of terror found in an iconic backyard swimming pool. It is based on McGuire’s 2014 short film of the same name, in which a threatening entity watches a woman, Eve, take a night swim.
McGuire previously directed Unfollowed, a social media-centred horror film. The filmmaker’s upcoming projects include The White Room and the Freya Allan-starring supernatural horror Baghead.
Russell will also be starring in the Apple TV+ and Legendary Television’s upcoming Godzilla series and will reprise his Falcon and the Winter Soldier role in Marvel’s upcoming Thunderbolts, as U.S. Agent/John Walker. Condon, meanwhile, was recently seen opposite Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in The Banshees of Inisherin, and will next star in The Land of Saints and Sinners.
Night Swim will be released by Universal Pictures, with Jason Blum and James Wan sharing producing credits. Production is expected to begin soon, ahead of a theatrical release on January 19th, 2024.
