With Brie Larson set to debut as Carol Danvers in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, it’s now been revealed that she’ll be joined by Nick Fury when her own solo movie arrives in 2019.

As per Deadline, it’s been confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson will indeed be reprising his Nick Fury role for Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s Captain Marvel – a move which will reunite the Kong: Skull Island co-stars. Interestingly, the last time we saw Fury on the big screen was back in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. It’s believed, though, that he’ll be another of the huge ensemble present in Infinity War next year.

For those not familiar with Carol Danvers, she debuted back in 1968, initially a member of the US air force before later becoming Ms. Marvel in 1977 following a previous tangle with explosive Kree technology. In 2012, Danvers was given a “promotion” to the mantle of Captain Marvel. As part of her powers, she’s able to project and absorb energy as well as having the usual superhuman strength and speed not to mention the ability to fly.

The Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel character will debut in the Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Infinity War, which will hit cinemas on May 4th, 2018. Following that, she’s got her own Captain Marvel movie booked in for March 8th, 2019 before the still-to-be-titled Infinity War follow-up on May 3rd, 2019.
