As the next entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise continues to amass its core cast, Nicholas Hoult has joined the series.

Initially reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the X-Men and Mad Max: Fury Road favourite has signed on for a to-be-revealed role in next year’s to-be-titled seventh entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Director Christopher McQuarrie has since confirmed this news on social media.

Nicholas Hoult joins a Mission: Impossible 7 cast that currently includes Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Pom Klementieff, Hayley Atwell, and Shea Whigham.

Not only are we getting a seventh Mission: Impossible outing, but Paramount has set release dates for two further entries in the franchise. At present, Mission: Impossible 7 is booked in for July 2021 and Mission: Impossible 8 is pegged for August 2022.

As ever, expect more on all things Mission: Impossible as we get it.
