Fresh from our scholarly deconstruction (cough) of the TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON trailer on the latest edition of STARBURST RADIO, comes the news that Michael Bay has put up a $25,000 reward to anyone who can spot the near universally despised* Autobots Mudflap & Skids in his new movie.

The reason he’s got a (bumble)bee in his bonnet – a recent review of the movie over at AICN, where the writer of the piece claims they feature, despite earlier assurances nobody will ever, ever see the characters again.

Here’s the statement Bay issued on his website today:

“After the internet posting of a nice review by someone who saw Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the writer had not been clear on one thing. He misstated that the Twins are in the film. They are not. So I am offering a $25,000 REWARD to anyone who can find them performing in Transformers 3, on July 1, when the movie opens.”

But Michael, can’t they be seen in the official trailer?

“The Twins are not in the movie. You will not find them anywhere. Trailer houses sometimes use shots that are not in the movie! End this.”

Alright Mike – settle down, mate!

TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON is released worldwide on July 1st. BRING THE RAIN!

*I’m not ashamed to say I actually quite enjoyed them! Ok, make that ‘a little’ ashamed.

Fellow Mudflap & Skids fans unite! Let’s campaign for their return in TF4! Or not. Anyway, let us know what you think of all this nonsense with your comments below!
