The Alan Ball, that is. Speaking with THR recently, TRUE BLOOD showrunner and SIX FEET UNDER creator Alan Ball suggested that the upcoming season 4 could be his last. Say what?!

“Right now I’m in the middle of negotiating for a fifth season. I don’t know if I have any left in me after that. We’ll see.”

Crikey!

Ball cites the production of season 4 to have been “really tough” and is currently ready to take a big vacation right now.” Sounds like this year’s batch of shows have been pretty rough on the poor bloke. What could have made it such a nightmare compared to previous seasons? Bloated egos perhap? We’ll do some sniffing around and see if we can unearth any dirt…

So where does this leave the beloved show should Ball pack his bags and head on his hols? Would HBO put one of their biggest cash-cows out to pasture? Don’t worry TRUE BLOOD fans – not a prayer. Ball might have nurtured the adaptation to screen, but the show’s much bigger than he is now – expect the adventures of Sookie Stackhouse and co to continue for many seasons yet, with or without him.

Season 4 of TRUE BLOOD kicks off in the States on June 26th.

Would you continue watching TRUE BLOOD without Alan Ball’s input? Exactly. Course you would. SIX FEET UNDER… that’s a different story. Let us know with your comments below!
