The Luc Besson produced TRANSPORTER series starring Jason Statham is getting the TV treatment! Minus star Jason Statham. Oh.

The 12-episode season from Cinemax TV has announced its new ‘Frank Martin’ – the tough guy who’s really good at… transporting… things – and it’s actor Chris Vance.

Who?

Y’know, that irritating British fella who was in PRISON BREAK’s god-awful third season.

Oh, yeah, that’s the one! But hang on, irritating British fella had hair, didn’t he? Is this set pre-Frank’s male pattern baldness kicking in?

We’re not sure to be honest as the “story” deets are still in short supply. But we do know that actress Andrea Osvart will provide the inevitable will-they-won’t-they sexual chemistry as a former CIA operative turner ‘handler’ to The Transporter.

It’s hard to stomach the idea that Statham is now too much of a movie star to slum it in his own franchise, as he has to be one of the very worst actors getting work right now. Hollywood – please, wake up! He’s rubbish! He can’t even deliver a convincing ‘English’ accent, let alone any other! He’s good at one thing and one thing only – fighting bad guys while shirtless. Silently. In motor oil.

How all the dozens of TRANSUPPORTERS* out there are going to take to this re-casting remains to be seen. We’ll have to wait til next year to find out.
