Yep, seems Paramount want to stay in the horror film business after the massive success of their PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise which keeps the money rolling in every Halloween. Never ones to shy away from a successful formula, the studio now have what they were looking for with a new found footage horror franchise in production with a January 6th release date planned.

THE DEVIL INSIDE is the new film from director and co-writer William Brent Bell and stars Bonnie Morgan, Fernanda Andrade and Simon Quarterman. No I’ve never heard of them either.

The plot revolves around a woman who discovers what she believed about her mother’s death is in fact false and her mother was killed during an exorcism. The woman investigates and takes a film crew with her to Italy where they get caught up in a series of unauthorized exorcisms. So far all we have to go on is this creepy little viral vid:

Every year we seem to have a new film that tries to evoke THE EXORCIST but fails miserably. Will THE DEVIL INSIDE join that lot? Or could this actually be quite good?
