It’s been quite a while now since fans were
treated to our first official look at THE DARK KNIGHT RISES uber villain Bane. It
was a cool shot, though given the moody lighting it wasn’t much more than a
tease. Then came the trailer – which again offered us little more than the most
fleeting of glimpses. We’re aware that this tactic is deliberate, with Nolan
and co careful not to give everything away too soon, so he’s probably not
going to be too happy at these photos from the Pittsburgh shoot leaking online.
Sorry, but we’re too curious not to have a peak. There’s a lot of concern that
the character is given his due justice this second time around, it still stings that Joel Schumacher turned one of the Caped Crusader’s most powerful enemies into little more than Poison Ivy’s chauffeur in 1997’s BATMAN & ROBIN.
Anybody wishing
not to spoil themselves and wait for some official shots to hit, turn away now.

So, folks – what do you make of all of this? Do you like Nolan’s vision for Bane? What’s with The Tumbler’s Desert Storm re-design? There seems to be more than a few nods to the military here. Could Bane be an ex-soldier, a victim of the ‘venom project’ – in Nolan’s universe an army experiment gone awry? Could be interesting.
Still don’t like his choice of coat though. Who wears a sheepskin jacket on a day like that!
