As rumoured recently, Bradley Cooper (THE HANGOVER I & II) has now bagged the lead role in the long-threatened reboot of THE CROW.

The existing draft is now being rewritten by WATCHMEN scribe Alex Tse, and will be helmed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, director of the 28 WEEKS LATER (a rare sequel that was stronger than the original in my opinion).

I’m guessing a few readers are scratching their heads over Cooper’s casting – he’s hardly very gothic looking after all – so it’s worth mentioning that the original comic-book series (which ran from 1989-1999) chronicled the tales of many different characters resurrected by the magic bird, each born again to enact revenge upon those that made them suffer. So techinally, if they follow that approach this might not even be a reboot after all. If on the other hand I’m wrong and the movie does turn out to be a straight-up remake of the tragically-dated 1994 Alex Proyas original, well, then Cooper is completely miscast here. We shall see.

Hope they’re a bit more vigilant when dealing with firearms this time. I’d quite like to see an A-TEAM 2.

Is Bradley Cooper a good choice for the role? Do you want to see another CROW movie anyway? Let us know with your comments below!
