Now before you get your hopes up, Quentin Tarantino hasn’t finally delivered on his promise and got around to making that sequel to KILL BILL. Instead, what we have here is a potentially hilarious new British comedy/horror starring the legendary (well, here in the UK anyway) presenter Keith Chegwin as a celeb targeted by a serial killer. Here’s the new trailer…

For those outside of the UK (or under 30), here’s the official synopsis that, while giving away little in terms of plot, will help fill you in just why the fella’s getting his own movie…

“Keith ‘Cheggers’ Chegwin is a household name and has been at the top of his game for nearly 40 years. He’s an all round entertainer and has lived with us via our TV screens on Swap Shop as kids through to GMTV as parents. He is undoubtedly a national treasure, and for nearly four decades has been much loved by viewers young and old. But now it’s time to Kill Keith.”

Starring alongside Keith are Marc Pickering (I Want Candy), Susannah Fielding (4,3,2,1), Joe Tracini (Coming of Age), David Easter (Family Affairs, The Bill), Tony Blackburn (BBC Radio 2), Joe Pasquale (Stand Up Comedian), and Russell Grant (Strictly Come Dancing).

It’s easy to imagine a few people being a little sniffy about this one, but let’s remind ourselves how superb Chegwin was when he previously appeared as himself in Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant’s EXTRAS (a role he’ll soon revisit in their upcoming sitcom LIFE’S TOO SHORT).

That, and my Uncle Jason appeared on Chegger’s Plays Pop as a kid and said he was a sound bloke.

KILL KEITH hits UK cinemas on November 11th.
