While I absolutely appreciate the cultural importance of the HARRY POTTER franchise, it genuinely saddens me that I’ve never been able to fully appreciate it. In fact, of the eight movies I’ve only enjoyed a single one of them (DEATHLY HALLOWS PART II). That said, this thing looks amazing.

WHEN HARRY LEFT HOGWARTS is a feature length documentary by BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Morgan Matthews, who’s chronicled the shooting of the final two movies with unprecedented access to the production. Check out the trailer below…

If the trailer is any indication this could actually join the likes of ‘HEARTS OF DARKNESS’, ‘THAT MOMENT: MAGNOLIA DIARY’ and ‘FULL TILT BOOGIE’ as another pitch-perfect look at the day-to-day highs-and-lows of movie making.

As fascinating as this has the potential to be, it’s sadly being relegated to a mere special feature status on the upcoming Blu-ray release of HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART II.

Which I guess means my movie collection will no longer be Potter-free come December 2nd.
