Hang on a flippin’ minute… Are we right in remembering that Lucas chose to depict Darth Maul actually splitting in two during his fall to his death – with the express intention of shutting up us fans who were clammering for another appearance? Anyone back us up on this?

Well, that’s all gone out of the window now – because Lucas has clearly had a change of heart, with the news that the fourth season of the increasingly well-recieved STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS will feature the Sith apprentice in a prominent role. Check out this teaser-ist of teaser trailers (though still pretty darn cool) for a micro-glimpse of Maul’s return…

No word as of yet how the dude managed to get himself out of that little pickle at the end of THE PHANTOM MENACE, or whether comedian Peter Serafinowicz is coming back to voice another three lines. We’ll all have to tune in to STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS season 4 on Cartoon Network to find out…
