I think by this point Fox has done a good enough job of convincing us all that RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is actually worth our time. But they’re clearly not taking any chances – here’s the ‘third’ trailer for the forthcoming prequel (presumably we can start calling it that now, right?) Enjoy…

Anybody else notice a worrying trend developing here – in which studios release so much of the film upfront in various trailers, clips, and TV spots that by the time it comes to actually seeing the movie itself it just seems stale? Warner Bros’s recent GREEN LANTERN campaign was particularly aggressive, and judging by its disappointing box office goes to show the strategy doesn’t necessarily work. Once an audience has seen all the money shots they’re only going to feel short changed (see what I did there!) upon leaving the cinema.

Yep, we’ll be there Fox, promise. But let’s make that the last trailer now, yes?

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is released worldwide this August.

What do you guys think of the trailer then? And are you fed up with aggressive advertising campaigns like us, or do you like the ability to fully try-before-you-buy? Let us know with your comments below!
