As Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse gets set to make its big screen bow in May, 20th Century Fox has released two new posters, each detailing the film’s heroes and villains.

Promising to be a spectacle of epic proportions as the titular Apocalypse looks to destroy the world and recreate it in his own image, the official word on X-Men: Apocalypse reads:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse will feature a crammed cast (because… well, because it’s an X-Men movie) of James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Lucas Till as Havok, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Ben Hardy as Angel, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Lana Condor as Jubilee, and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse.

At present, Singer’s latest X-Men effort is set for a May 27th, 2016 release.
