Remember those rumblings of yet another redo for the big-screen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles property? Well, this new take on the Heroes in a Half-Shell could actually get going before the year is up.

Speaking to Variety, producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller have confirmed that Paramount Pictures is indeed still pushing forward with a new reboot for TMNT, with the current plan to start production by the end of the year.

The last we’d heard on this was that Bad Words’ Andrew Dodge had been brought in to being work on the film’s screenplay last June.

In terms of its most recent incarnation, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles proved a box office success in 2014, before Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows proved less successful in 2016. Those movies saw a mixture of CGI and live-action utilised to bring the Turtles and their world to life, and both fans and critics alike were generally split on these two outings.

Now though, the adventures of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo are set to be reimagined yet again.

As ever, expect more on this TMNT reboot as it continues to develop.
