The new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic It has now found its ‘big bad’.

Variety is reporting that Will Poulter will be playing Pennywise in New Line’s upcoming reworking of the famed horror tale. Poulter is best known for the likes of The Revenant, Son of Rambow, The Maze Runner, The Chronicles of Narnia and, err, We’re the Millers.

This latest telling of It, fondly remembered by many for the brilliant 1991 mini-series starring Tim Curry as creepy clown Pennywise, is being put together by New Line and True Detective’s Cary Fukunaga. The plan at present is for the story to play out over two movies.

The basic premise of It centres on a group of outcast children who are tormented by a child-killing clown during one summer break. They later return to vanquish their demons as adults.

Expect to hear more on this as it develops.
