Director Bryan Singer has released some new production art for his upcoming X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Whilst the art released up until now has been relatively generic, this new shot seems to confirm that, yes, the film will indeed feature Warren Worthington III, aka Angel, aka Archangel, who is seemingly caged and in front of an audience in this new image.

When Ben Hardy was confirmed for an unknown “significant” role in the film, many fans speculated that, given the EASTENDERS actor’s appearance, he could very well be playing Angel. This production art only adds further fuel to those fires, with it now apparent that Angel will indeed be in the film. Whether Hardy is playing the character, that remains to be seen. Either way, the Archangel version of the character is key in many of the Apocalypse-centred X-tales, with him serving as one of the big bad’s Four Horseman of the Apocalypse.

At present, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will feature James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Lana Condar as Jubliee, and Oscar Isaac as the titular Apocalypse. It’s also believed that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be back in some form.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is currently set for a May 27th, 2016 release.
