In terms of diminishing quality, it can be argued that you’d be hard pushed to find a better example than Paramount’s PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise. After making quite the impression with its first entry back in 2007, the series has suffered greatly in trying to match that first effort. Whilst each of the further instalments had their merits, the last couple of films have been particularly disappointing outings. As a result of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4’s poor return, a fifth movie was put on hold. Now comes word on a title for that fifth film, plus some release details.

To be titled PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION, this next entry in the series will be released on March 13th, 2015. Before PA4’s poor performance, the fifth film was initially planned for an October 24th, 2014 release but that was scrapped. Even more disappointing for Paramount, their Latino-based spin-off, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES, released in January this year, fared even worse than PA4.

In terms of plot, it’s said that THE GHOST DIMENSION will focus on an entirely new family to the franchise, although the story will again revolve around two young daughters.

Expect more on this as it develops.
