Whether a horror franchise is good, bad or indifferent, it seems that they’re all fair game when it comes to getting the reboot treatment. And now, you can add Final Destination to the list of old favourites getting a new spin.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema is making plans to reboot the Final Destination series. Already, New Line has brought in Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan on writing duties; the pair likely best known for writing several entries in the Saw franchise.

The Final Destination began life back in 2000, with Final Destination 5 the most recent outing for the series in 2011. For this new Final Destination, the early word has it labelled as a “reimagining”.

In the Final Destination franchise, the basic premise of each film saw some huge disaster averted – only for death to come a-calling for those poor souls who managed to stay alive thanks to said disaster not happening.

Expect more on this as it continues to develop.
