In some interesting news, the stars are starting to align for
another monstrous battle between King Kong and Godzilla.

The catalyst to this is that Legendary’s upcoming Kong: Skull Island has switched from
Universal to Warner Brothers. As it happens, the WB just so happens to be the
home of the recently relaunched Godzilla
series.

Deadline
is reporting that the reason for the move is that Legendary has plans to do a King Kong vs. Godzilla movie. Whilst Kong: Skull Island is still planned for
its March 10th, 2017 release, and the sequel of Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla is still on track for June 8th,
2018, all eyes will then switch to a gigantic kick off between the Eighth
Wonder of the World and Big G.

Long-time genre fans will have already seen such a battle
before, with 1962’s King Kong vs.
Godzilla
seeing a resized Godzilla battling Kong.

As ever, expect more on this as and when it develops.
