Never been a fan of Guy Ritchie's movies personally, but after seeing - and loving - his SHERLOCK HOLMES reboot in 2009 I revised my opinion. It was always his writing that had bothered me* - his needlessly convoluted, repetitive storylines populated by characters there only to dispense his smug, overwritten dialogue detracted from a unique, striking visual style. With Ritchie stepping down from screenwriting duties on this franchise, it's seemingly making all the difference. Anyway, have a look at the first trailer for SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS and see what you think...
SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS opens worldwide in December.
* Never more so than in the hilariously pretentious REVOLVER. What could it all possibly mean?! Listen to the train-wreck of a commentary track to hear Ritchie struggling to pretend he understands his own screenplay. Trust me, it's funny stuff!
