So it’s Friday afternoon and all of us UK folk have just had the stress and debates of the EU referendum. How can we try and lighten the mood a little for you? Well, how about some Star Wars news?

EW has some new news on Darth Vader’s role in Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In a fantastic move, it’s been confirmed that James Earl Jones will once more be returning to lend his iconic vocals to Vader. Anyone would think it was almost symbolic that Sith-based news arrived at a time when Nigel Farage’s mug has been so prominent in the media…

Speaking to EW about Vader’s presence, Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy explained, “He will be in the movie sparingly, but at a key, strategic moment he’s going to loom large.”

It was also revealed that numerous actors will take turns in actually inhabiting the legendary Vader suit, although no mention was made of any sort of return for Hayden Christensen.

Kennedy continued, “Within the Rebellion, it’s not commonly spoken about . Within the Empire, there is the culture of knowing of the existence of Darth Vader. There’s definitely an underlying feeling that there is a power – a dark power – available to the Empire and that if you overstep your mark, you will suffer the consequences.”

Following a group of Rebels attempting to steal the plans to the Darth Star (sounds a tad familiar, right?), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is currently set for a December 16th release.
