The SFBALL has been a fan-favourite convention for many a year now. In fact, this year sees the UK’s longest running sci-fi and fantasy convention celebrate its 21st year. Quite the impressive feat. As such, the event is looking to be bigger than ever and has even moved venue, switching from its regular Bournemouth home to the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton. With the SFBALL less than a month away, excitement is getting high and further details of the event are being made available.

In terms of the line-up, here’s just a few of the names who will be appearing at the event:

Robbie Duncan McNeill – STAR TREK: VOYAGER, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, SUPERNATURAL, CHUCK

Manu Intirayami – STAR TREK: VOYAGER, STAR TREK: RENEGADES

James Cosmo – GAME OF THRONES, HIGHLANDER, BRAVEHEART

Sylvester McCoy – DOCTOR WHO, THE HOBBIT

Robert Rankin – THE ANTIPOPE, THE SPROUTS OF WRATH, RAIDERS OF THE LOST CAR PARK

That’s just some of the guests we’re looking out for (the full line-up can be viewed here), but there’s plenty more to see during the three-day event. Other notable happenings are the Saturday Night Steampunk Banquet (complete with Cabaret), Steampunk Exhibition (complete with ‘Tea Duelling’), Doctor Who’s Corridor of Monsters, Table Top Gaming, Comics Alley, Gameshows, Cosplay, and a rather cool-sounding ‘Money Can’t Buy’ raffle that features original artwork, film props and some must-have merchandise. Giving the event an official angle, Councillor Sue Blatchford, the Mayor of Southampton, will also be present – apparently she’s quite the STAR TREK fan. And once more, the SFBALL will be continuing their support for the Teenage Cancer Trus.

The SFBALL will run from Friday, February 6th to Sunday, February 8th. The event will take place at the Grand Harbour Hotel, West Quay Road, Southampton, Hampshire, SO15 1AG. For tickets and further information, by sure to visit sfball.com.
