This weekend’s WonderCon has seen some news surface on what’s ahead for Season 2 of FOX’s GOTHAM.

Speaking at the show’s panel, producer John Stephens confirmed two arcs that will be prevalent in the second season: the “emergence of character billionaire Bruce Wayne”, and a further look into the character of “Jerome”, who has been played up as potentially becoming The Joker. Yep, this is the show that was originally going to be totally based on Jim Gordon, with Bruce Wayne being merely a small supporting character in a handful of episodes. Right…

Additionally, Stephens also confirmed that Clayface, The Mad Hatter and Mr Freeze will make an appearance in Season 2, whilst it was also revealed that the show has “come close” to doing the Court of Owls but “haven’t yet committed.”

In terms of dividing opinion, GOTHAM has split fan and critical opinion more than most genre shows, and it’s safe to firmly describe it as Marmite television. Whereas many have balked at the amount of DC villains who have been introduced already, it looks as if there’s still plenty more to come with Season 2.
