In terms of multiple versions being out there, Jack Finney’s 1954 classic The Body Snatchers has been adapted more times than we care to remember. And now, another new take on this classic tale is in the works.
As per Deadline, Warner Brothers has started to move things forward on a new version of Body Snatchers by bringing in David Leslie Johnson to pen the film’s screenplay. Johnson’s previous credits include the likes of Orphan and The Conjuring 2.
Previously, Finney’s The Body Snatchers was developed as a movie with 1956’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers. After that, 1978 famously saw another movie of the same name arrive, and then 1993 saw Abel Ferrara direct his own take with Body Snatchers. But that wasn’t all, for 2007 saw yet another version – titled simply The Invasion – dished out.
For those unfamiliar with this property, the basic premise sees a small town invaded by aliens that look to replicate the humans who live or lived in the same locale. As the aliens begin to multiply, a local doctor has the unenviable task of tackling this menace… all while never knowing who is real or who is simply a copycat alien intent of destruction.SHARE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW OR ON TWITTER @STARBURST_MAG
