With on-demand services now a hugely popular way of enjoying films and TV shows, it looks as if Netflix could be about to add several Star Wars shows to its programming.

Cinelinx is reporting that there could be three live-action Star Wars series heading to Netflix in the future. Little details are known on the shows at this stage, although it’s believed that the shooting of the second Star Wars Anthology movie, due for release in May 2018, may play a part in further developments. That movie will focus on the tales of a young Han Solo, and the current story is that the live-action Netflix shows will shoot around a similar time to that film in order to utilise the extensive sets created for the Han film.

With Lucasfilm now owned by Disney, and Disney having worked alongside Netflix with Daredevil and the other upcoming exclusive Marvel shows, the relationship between the parties involved is extremely healthy, meaning doing something with Star Wars on Netflix is a no-brainer.

Expect to hear a lot more on this as and when it develops.
