While several genre shows have faced the axe in recent months, now comes some positive news for fans of The Umbrella Academy.

In an official announcement, Netflix has moved to confirm that The Umbrella Academy has been renewed for a third season. This third year will consist of ten one-hour episodes, with Steve Blackman returning as showrunner and executive producer.

Season Two of The Umbrella Academy saw our batch of young heroes heading back to the 1960s to try and save all existence. Of course, it’s not always plain sailing on that front, and thus the actions seen in the show’s sophomore season yet again served to alter the timeline.

No premiere date has been set at this stage for The Umbrella Academy’s third year, but it’s just great to hear that this is one genre favourite that will be returning to our screens.
