Remember those stories of a Stretch Armstrong moving happening? Well, while that film has spent years in development hell, Netflix and Hasbro have moved to announce that they’re teaming to produce an animated series based on the flexible fella.

This new show will be titled Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters and will centre on high school student Jake Armstrong and his bested buds Nathan Park and Ricardo Perez. All three are accidentally exposed to a chemical that transforms their lives and turns them in to unlikely heroes.

On this news, Hasbro’s Stephen Davis enthused, “Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters is the first Hasbro brand to receive a Netflix original series order. We have been waiting for just the right moment to reimagine Stretch Armstrong for a new audience and our friends at Netflix got it right away; they have been a tremendous partner. We have hit a superhero sweet spot, and with Netflix’s global reach, kids across the world will fall in love with its fun characters and action-packed storyline.”

Early voice talents confirmed for the series include Teen Titans Go!’s Scott Menville, The Walking Dead’s Steven Yuen, Ultimate Spider-Man’s Ogie Banks, Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Wil Wheaton, and Star Trek: Voyager’s Kate Mulgrew.
