In a move that’s no real surprise to anybody, it’s been confirmed that Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are returning to the James Bond franchise for the upcoming 25th franchise entry for 007.

This news was revealed by The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye, although he also added that it’s still unclear whether Daniel Craig will be back in the saddle once more as Britain’s greatest spy. On that front, Craig is still mulling over whether to return for a fifth Bond outing.

Purvis and Wade are two hugely familiar names to longtime fans of the franchise, with them having been writing Bond scripts as far back as 1999’s The World is Not Enough. More recently, despite initially announcing their departure from the franchise, the pair worked alongside John Logan and Jez Butterworth to pen the script for SPECTRE.

Whilst Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are returning, director Sam Mendes, who helmed Skyfall and SPECTRE, has already ruled out doing another Bond picture, and obviously the matter of whether Daniel Craig will indeed have his martinis shaken not stirred once more is still a burning issue that needs to be addressed.
