Thought you’d seen more War of the Worlds adaptations than you could ever possibly need? Well, there’s now a new take on H.G. Wells’ classic heading to MTV.

This new take, described as a contemporary drama series, will be written by Teen Wolf’s Andrew Cochran and executive produced by Jeff Davis, Josh Barry and Keff Kwatinetz. Interestingly enough, Josh Barry is the grandson of Gene Barry, star of Bryron Haskin’s 1953 War of the Worlds movie.

Since that adaptation, Wells’ source material has been brought to life more times than we’d care to remember. In relatively recent times, the most notable of these takes was Steven Spielberg’s Tom Cruise-starring 2005 movie.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
