Bryan Singer has made another X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST casting, confirming the return of Halle Berry as Storm. Rumours of Berry’s return have been circling since the announcement of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen’s return.

Personally I always found Storm to be one of the lesser characters in the original trilogy, largely down to Berry’s performance in the role and felt she was given far too much screen time due to her star power (at the time) rather than the films having something interesting to do with the character. But that’s just me.

With a cast this packed, it will be interesting to see how they balance giving these actors (and more importantly their characters) the screen time they deserve. A lot of these must surely fall into the extended cameo bracket, although I can’t help but worry that it will be the FIRST CLASS cast that ends up getting the rotten end of the deal (especially given the number of original trilogy cast compared to them as announced at this time).

Rumours of James Marsden’s Cyclops also returning (although I doubt this is the story arc to give him the screen time his character finally deserves), along with Alan Cumming’s fan favourite Nightcrawler, still remain unconfirmed, although Cummings has expressed an interest in donning the blue make up again.

Keep ‘em peeled here for more casting news (we’ll post it as soon as Singer tweets it).

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST begins shooting in April with a planned July 2014 release.
