…But to get it made he’s going to need our help: “…Write Fox and get ’em going”, the star said in a recent interview with US talk show host Jay Leno, which sadly means that the studio aren’t yet convinced of the project’s viability. And after 2008’s I WANT TO BELIEVE, the second big-screen outing for the X-FILES franchise, only brought in half of the box office of FIGHT THE FUTURE (the first), we can hardly blame them. We all know they’re just number crunchers at the end of the day. We can and will land the blame squarely at creator Chris Carter’s feet though, for picking such an insipid and uncommercial storyline to go with for the sequel. Peado priests? Billy bloody Connelly?! What was he thinking! Bring back the Bees and Black Oil already.

It’s doubly frustrating that everybody is eager to go but the studio: “Chris Carter and Gillian Anderson and I, we’re always on board!”, Duchovny told Leno, “I’ll play Mulder forever!”. Will he get his wish? Better get writing those letters, guys. In fact, here’s the address to speed things along! . . .
