Though it’s early days, THOR 2 has had a somewhat troubled production thus far, what with original director Kenneth Branagh turning down the opportunity to return to the director chair, his replacement Patty Jenkins being given the boot, and an uncharacteristically pissed-off Natalie Portman publicly vocalising her frustration with the situation.

Now SAVING PRIVATE RYAN writer Robert Rodat has been brought in to re-write Don Payne’s original script. It’s not to say this is a sure sign of more complications – it’s common practice to re-write and polish a script before shooting begins – but what with everything gone before, it’s certainly worthy of a raised-eyebrow.

As previously reported, GAME OF THRONES director Alan Taylor is calling the shots for Marvel Studios on this. For now at least.

THOR 2 is due November 2013.
