Justice League

Well you can’t say you didn’t see this coming. Despite stalling a tad with their planned DC universe on film launch with GREEN LANTERN, seeing the massive box office for THE AVENGERS has given DC and Warner Bros ants in their pants and they have gone ahead and hired a writer for a big screen JUSTICE LEAGUE movie.

Will Beall is the man hired to bring the heroes to the screen for a team up and has previously written the forthcoming GANGSTER SQUAD as well as the further down the pipe LOGAN’S RUN and LETHAL WEAPON remakes. For the record Justice League consists of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman and Aquaman I think…

Personally I would prefer they took their time and build up to this with a film introducing each character, but there again they still have to go through the whole rebooting of SUPERMAN and BATMAN before they get to the film so maybe they don’t want to wait. Interestingly this very nearly happened back in 2006 with George Miller directing. Warner’s had even gone as far as casting Adam Brody as The Flash and Common as Green Lantern before the whole thing fell through. Will this version get further than that? We will see but it’s probably less of a risk now that AVENGERS has made serious bank.
