So far this week, it’s been a comparatively ANT-MAN-heavy few days. With Michael Douglas having signed on to play Hank Pym, joining Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, and rumours suggesting Michael Pena is in talks to join Edgar Wright’s Marvel adventure, today brings further ANT-MAN news. ThisIsInfamous is reporting some more details on what role Pena is up for, as well as some plot details for the flick.

Their report claims that Pena is up for the role of Castillo, who will be one of two villains that will appear in the movie. It’s said that Castillo will be involved in some early scenes with a young Hank Pym. These scenes will be set in the 1960s and will feature Pym as a spy who’s fighting against Communism. Things will then be brought forward to the modern day, where Douglas will be playing the older Hank Pym. It’s here that we will be introduced to Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, who will end up taking on the Ant-Man moniker and going up against an unconfirmed villain. It’s said that Castillo will end up playing a large role in the movie as the story develops, so it won’t just merely be a case of a few throwaway scenes in the early moments of the movie.

Further to these plot details, various outlets are also reporting that the female lead of ANT-MAN, initially presumed to be Janet van Dyne, is to actually be a daughter of Douglas’ Hank Pym.

Take all of the above with a pinch of salt for now, but expect to hear more on this as it develops.

ANT-MAN is currently scheduled to open Marvel’s Phase Three of films on 31st July, 2015.
