With plenty of rumours out there about who may be joining J.J. Abrams’ STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, the latest story centres on an unknown British actress by the name of Maisie Richardson-Sellers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oxford-educated Richardson-Sellers is apparently in line for a role believed to be that of a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi. When asked about this, Disney declined to comment. Similarly, calls to Richardson-Sellers’ US manager Lena Roklin were being ignored. It’s said that the actress came to Abrams’ attention during an extended casting search in London. In terms of experience, she’s best known for her work on stage.

If Richardson-Sellers were to join EPISODE VII, it wouldn’t be the first time that Abrams has cast an unknown name in one of his movies, having made SUPER 8 with a bunch of mainly unknowns, not to mention giving the relatively unknown Chris Pine the Kirk gig in STAR TREK.

Still, take all of this as a rumour until anything official drops from Disney, although they’re keeping remarkably silent on any and all things STAR WARS right now.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is currently scheduled for an 18th December, 2015 release.
