The writers of the upcoming apocalyptic comedy THIS IS THE END have reportedly been asked on multiple occasions to pen a script for a film based on the UNCHARTED series. 

In an interview with IGN, Rogen revealed that “they’re constantly asking me and Evan to make the UNCHARTED movie”. Despite being asked repeatedly over the past four years, Goldberg explained that they have declined the job simply because they can’t imagine how it would be handled. “It’s just going to be Indiana Jones. If we could figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, it’d be awesome”.

As with most game-based movie ideas, an UNCHARTED movie has faced its fair share of trouble since its announced development in 2007. Many directors and writers have come and gone, and in 2011 the project nearly took flight with director David O.Russell and Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake. This fell through once Russell left the project due to ‘creative differences’ with Sony.

As it stands, we’ll just have to continue waiting for that killer game-to-film adaptation that is going to rock the Earth into a gaming frenzy. BIOSHOCK anyone?
