TRANSCENDENCE, the upcoming directorial debut of celebrated cinematographer Wally Pfister (THE DARK KNIGHT RISES), has added a new face to its cast in the form of the awesomely monikered Cole Hauser (PITCH BLACK). While the plot still remains under wraps, the sci-fi picture seems to revolve around an inventor (played by Johnny Depp) creating some A.I. that turns nasty. Hauser will reportedly be playing a military fella. Also already signed to star in the movie are Cillian Murphy, Morgan Freeman, Kate Mara, Rebecca Hall and Paul Bettany. With the latter two having both appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we hope Pfister keeps his opinions about THE AVENGERS (“an appalling film,” he famously said last year) to himself for the sake of a pleasant set!

TRANSCENDENCE will hit US cinemas April 25th 2014.
