Treat this purely as a rumour for now, but Production Weekly is reporting that the current title for the next film in the TERMINATOR series is TERMINATOR: GENESIS. Whether this is the actual title, merely a placeholder, or simply rumour, is not known at this point. As the film is still in the very early pre-production stages at present, it could be any one of those possibilities.

In terms of the actual film itself, the plot is being kept hush-hush for now, but the Alan Taylor-directed outing is currently looking to cast a Sarah Connor, a John Connor, and a Kyle Reese. It’s been widely reported that GAME OF THRONES’ Emilia Clarke and 21 JUMP STREET’s Brie Larson are the two front-runners for the Sarah Connor role, with Clarke presumed to be the favourite due to her having worked with Taylor on THRONES. The main name being bandied about for Kyle Rees is TRON: LEGACY’s Garrett Hedlund, and Taylor has gone on record as saying he’d love Tom Hardy in the John Connor role.

Apparently the first of a new trilogy of films, TERMINATOR is scheduled for a 2nd July, 2015 release.
